Providing energy that fuels learning and collaboration

The Illinois Energy Consortium Electric Program Administrator
is Ameren Energy Marketing and is responsible for all daily operations.

Maximizing the number of participants is critical to IEC overall savings.
High participation meant potential electric suppliers will be more aggressing
in offering attractive pricing and services.

Recently, the IEC entered into an agreement to secure supply through
May 2010. The results of the RFP were aggressive and very competitive
rates have been secured.

there is no fee to participate
Some utility company fees and meter installation costs may impact the amount of savings. Remaining utility fees, those not waived or reduced, combined with association, administrative and consulting fees will be netted from the participant's savings so that each participant will know the true savings.

Economic evaluation process
Before a member commits to participation, AEM can perform a full Budget Projection, based on historical usage and current IEC supply costs. This analysis will show the district how much they can save by participating in the Program.
This is also a great tool each year when it is time to set your budget for
the following year.

Savings include the KWH volume and number of participants. In the future, savings on one building may make it worthwhile to place all buildings on a single bill and for long-term savings potential from participating in the purchasing consortium. The potential savings depend on a building's particular usage patterns, the utility company's practices, fees and the actual electric supply price.

for the IEC since 2000.

Tonya Powell, from AEM's Account Management department is the IEC Electric Program administrator for the IEC. It is Tonya's responsibility to oversee the day-to-day activities above as well as fulfill other needs as they arise. Often it is Tonya's face you will see at conferences, working the exhibit both next to the IEC's own Ron Steigerwald. Tonya is also a regular contributor the IEC's newsletter. In response to the explosive growth of the IEC Program in 2007, AEM has expanded their staff supporting the IEC to become AEM Customer Care Team. AEM's Customer Care Team was designed to better address the needs of our customers. Having only one person assigned to help each customer meant that if that person was busy, you had to wait.

Now, with a team of three experienced staff members, you can get answers to questions about your bill or your agreement quicker and easier than ever. This is not a "call center" where you risk getting bounced around or transferred into phone limbo. The AEM Customer Care Team works as exactly that, a Team, to give our customers the quality of service they expect and we demand. With over 30 years of combined customer service experience, you are in good hands.

Billing participants
The IEC Board will provide direction on billing and Ameren Energy Marketing, IEC Program Administrator, will provide a single bill to each participant with itemization by building. Ameren Energy Marketing is responsible for collecting payments from participants and paying the electric supplier, the utility company and other costs associated with program administration.
