Before you choose a Power Supplier Know what the IEC Program can do for you
You may be in close communication with your existing utility or with potential power suppliers. You may have been offered longer-term contracts or other incentives to sign now. Please be assured that those power suppliers can compete for your power supply through IEC! The combined purchasing volume of 500 school districts will attract strong and competitive power suppliers. Terms of those offers will normally be more attractive than terms available through individual offers from incumbent suppliers. Suppliers will normally be more aggressive in pricing when offering their services to a purchasing group than when offering a contract to an individual school district.

What services does IEC provide to participants?

IEC will provide the specialized electric purchasing, administrative and monitoring services necessary for the program's successful implementation. Participation in IEC will be readily available to the vast majority of small and large participants.

IEC is designed to:

Analyze historic utility consumption data to determine potential savings for each building;
Handle required utility company and electric supplier contracts;
Coordinate installation of any additional metering, if required;
Provide for daily operations and administration;

Pay utility and electric supplier invoices and provide one invoice to IEC participants with the billing detail for each building;
Provide a toll-free telephone number for participants; and
Report IEC savings to each participant, detailed by building.
